Delete your PRACTICE account and data
App: PRACTICE: One Small Act, on Google Play
You can delete your PRACTICE account and the data we hold about it at any time. It is free. There are two ways to ask: in the app, or by email, without the app.
In the app
Open PRACTICE, go to Settings > Delete my account and data, and confirm. This deletes your guest account and the records our servers hold for it, turns off your reminders and clears the home-screen widget if you added one. On the same screen you can tick "Also erase my journal on this phone"; if you do not, your journal, and any printed card numbers you logged, stay on the phone. Deleting needs a connection.
By email, without the app
Write to support@practicecardgame.app with the subject "Delete my account". You do not need to install the app to ask.
With a deletion code. If your version of the app has it, open Settings > Delete my account and data, tap Get a deletion code, and email us the code. We delete the account it belongs to and reply with a deletion reference. A code works once, getting a new code cancels the old one, and you can get a code only while the app is on your phone.
Without a code. A guest account holds no name or email, so without a code we cannot tell from a message which account is yours. We answer every request, and we delete an account only when we can be sure it is yours, so that we never delete someone else's. If we cannot match your request, your account is still deleted: a guest account that is no longer used is deleted automatically, within 99 days of the last day the app reached us for it. Once the app is removed from your phone, that account can no longer be used.
What is deleted
At once: your account, its sign-in records, your time zone, your age-check result (we never kept your birth date), your last active date and your practice records.
Your journal and mood were never on our servers, and neither were the numbers of cards you logged from a printed deck. If you choose to erase your journal when you delete in the app, they are removed from that phone. If you exported your journal, that file is wherever you saved it.
What is kept, and for how long
- A deletion record that a deletion happened (how and when), without your account id. We keep it for up to 91 days.
- Abuse limit counters in scrambled form, removed within 26 hours.
- Database backups, until they expire on our database provider's schedule. They are used only to recover from a failure.
- Hosting logs and our database provider's sign-in security log, for the short period our providers keep them.
- Your email to us, if you wrote, as a record of what you asked and what we did. Ask us and we will delete your messages too.
- Records Google holds about your download, under Google's own policies.
